this breath, this body, right now

OH, READER… Whether you are in good health or ill, whether your malaise is expressed in the body or in the anguish of the mind, you have in your hands a true story. It is about a hidden treasure, a reminder of your wealth, a call to reclaim the inheritance that is yours. Do you recall the abundance I’m talking about? The gem that was placed inside you long ago. Unseen yet irresistible, it is your essence, the one walking shoulder to shoulder with you even when you imagine that you are all alone. Santorelli, Saki. Heal Thy Self

I'm seeking medicine for a messy mind. Maybe the medicine is in the mantra … you are already mindful. You already have this innate, healthy state of being. You already have this breath, this body, right now.

That, instead of turning away, you can tenderly turn towards.

It's that simple. It's that hard.

The purpose of this blog is to share learnings, reflections, practices, exercises and the wisdom of teachers, mentors, writers, poets, philosophers and practitioners who believe the same. It will also share what it's like to experience this from my own perspective as a parent, partner, and sometime player in this compassionate hustle we call life.

It comes with a course offer too, based upon my own mentorship with one of the UK's leading mindfulness teachers.

The medicine tastes counterintuitive. It dispenses new categories, new information, new perspectives. It is energised by befriending the reality of what's here, what's available, what's happening now.

That reality ...doesn’t have to be

the blue iris, it could be
weeds in a vacant lot, or a few stones;

pay attention, then patch

a few words together and don’t try
to make them elaborate, this isn’t
a contest but the doorway

into thanks, and a silence in which
another voice may speak.

Mary Oliver, Praying

Thank you for your attention. I know it is precious to you.

I'd love you to join me for the ride.

Warm wishes
